Waccamaw Heart Walk

The 2016 Waccamaw Heart and Stroke walk is almost here! Beach Automotive Group is honored to announce that we are Platform Sponsors of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s 2016 Waccamaw Heart and Stroke Walk! The American Heart Association is a national volunteer agency building healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

This is a cause that is very important to us and we’re so glad we can participate this year. But, before our feet hit the pavement, we want to make sure you are aware of why we want to help so much. Here’s a little bit of information to get you started:

Did you know…

…Every 34 seconds, someone has a heart attack?

…Every 40 seconds, someone has a stroke?

…1 in 3 Americans have some form of cardiovascular disease?

…Cardiovascular disease is the nation’s most costly illness and accounts for $298 BILLION in direct and indirect costs each year?

…That our own Beach Automotive Group family has been personally affected by cardiovascular disease?

This year’s AHA/ASA Heart & Stroke Walk will take place on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at Plyler Park in Myrtle Beach. There will be 1 and 3 miles routes. It’s a perfect chance to get the whole family out to participate! The walk is also completely stroller and wheelchair accessible. Beach Automotive Group will have tent at the event as well! We’ll be there early to help spread the message, encourage walkers and have a great time with approximately 1,200 other participants. Activities begin at 9am by the Skywheel and the Walk starts at 10am.
