PowertrainPowertrain Choices!

The new powertrain choices on the 2018 F-150 provide a ton of power and efficiency! That is just what owners and drivers of the F-150 need, right? Of course it its! Keep reading for all the brand new details!

Power & Efficiency

Introduced on the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 last year, Dual-Direct and Port-Fuel Injection is now FEATURED on all 2018 F-150 gasoline engines. With two injectors for every cylinder, PFDI combines the best attributes of traditional Port-Fuel Injections with the performance-enhancing capabilities of Gasoline Direct Injection.

PowertrainAuto Start-Stop Technology

Now STANDARD with all F-150 gasoline engines, Auto Start-Stop can help reduce the fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving. It automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle stops. Then, it restarts the engine when the driver releases the brake pedal.

PFDI technology allows this smaller displacement engine to deliver more power and more torque than the larger 3.5L T0-VCT V6 is replaces. It also provides more efficiency. The new engine continues to include FlexFuel capability which allows drivers to use E85 fuel.

2nd Generation 2.7L EcoBoost V6

For many F-150 customers, this engine delivers all the power and capability they will ever need. Incorporating new PFDI technology, it’s not paired to the 10-speed transmission. The 2.7L EcoBoost delivers increased torque and efficiency.

PowertrainIMPROVED 5.0L Ti-VCT V8

Customers who demand performance will appreciate the increased output and efficiency of this engine. It incorporates new PFDI technology and is also paired to the 10-speed transmission

2nd Generation 3.5L EcoBoost V6

Introduces on 20107 models, this engine continues to offer the performance and efficiency benefits of PFDI technology and a 10-speed transmission.

10-Speed SelectShift Automatic Transmission

This transmission delivers exceptions hauling and towing capabilities with smooth shifting and efficiency. New drive modes, driver selected progressive rang settings and SelectShift manual mode enhance driver control.
